Where do you live?
I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Where have you lived?
I lived in Odessa (Ukraine), Yakutia (Siberia), Haifa (Israel)

What medium do you use?
I mainly use Adobe Illustrator

How do you stay inspired?
As long as I’m breathing and there’s something to look at – I’m inspired! I have a ton of books and magazines on design. I check daily what’s new and happening in the world of illustration and design via creative blogs. I look at my children’s drawings (because they draw from the ultimate source – infinite imagination)

Where do you buy your art supplies?
Mac store

Do you work traditionally or digitally?
I work mainly digitally. It’s convenience is unbeatable! I leave the computer out only when it comes to oil painting and crafts.

What color combination are you most excited about right now?
That’s an impossible question to answer! Practically everyday there’s something new! Brown and Pink, Turquise and earthy ornage, Mint and Navy blue, Mustard Yellow and Paprica Red. Too many possibilities to choose just one.

What blog(s) do you read?
I mainly read blogs by creative and interesting people. My favorite ones are about design (interior, graphic, fashion…) You can find an incomplete list on my own blog.

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
It’s anything but boring. I get to do what I LOVE!

If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?
I would be a taste tester in a candy shop (on the lookout for a poisoned chocolate) I would be an opera singer or a spanish dancer I would be an interior decorator and good taste consultant. I would be martha steward for people of my generation I would be an industrial designer with a specialty in toys I would be a cake decorator with cookie unconventional confectionery ideas!

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
My dream jobs are: ¥ Illustrating books for children ¥ Bookcovers ¥ Making patterns for any kind of surface ¥ Anything that gives me the freedom to do what I do best.

Name something you do in your spare time.
If I have spare time….I make plush toys, pain with oil, rearrange furniture, drink gallons of coffee and look through magazines.

What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?
When I was 16 I walked into a kindergarden supply store in Israel with dolls that I made and said – “Look, I could make these for your store and you could package and sell them.” They hired me that day. I set in the back of the store (in the packing and receiving area) and made dolls (they were flat with movable parts and Velcro on the back). Sometimes, Daycare owners would hire me to paint murals on the walls of their daycare. I did that up until I moved to Canada.

What are you reading now?
Blogs. I don’t have time to actually read a good book at the moment, but I’m sure it would be something by Douglas Coupland.

What recent book do you recommend for a good read?
My favorite book of all time is ‘Master & Margarita’ by Michail Bulgakov.

Where would you like to travel to next?
This June I’m going to Odessa (Ukraine) for a whole month with my girls and my husband. Beyond that, no plans yet. If I would survive that trip, I would like to visit Japan, Spain and France.
