I spent the first 18 years of my life in Kittery, Maine, went to college in Minnesota, studied abroad in Bogota, Colombia, rented an apartment in Oaxaca, Mexico and spent the last 15 years in San Francisco, California.

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Kittery, Maine and then went to college in St. Paul, Minnesota and studied abroad in Bogota, Colombia and rented an apartment in Oaxaca, Mexico for a short time with my husband and the last 10 years in San Francisco, California!
What medium do you use?
Primarily Acrylic paint and collage.
How do you stay inspired?
I take regular walks up to Bernal Hill which has all of these hidden staircases and secret gardens. I also explore thrift stores for 60’s silk Vera scarves and Dollar stores from random colorful baubles as well as trips to the ocean, book stores and china town wonderings.
Where do you buy your art supplies?
FLAX is a great art store in SF with ridiculously beautiful paper and covetable art supplies, but I order supplies on line too from Blick when I don’t want to impulse buy!

What color combination are you most excited about right now?
Bright red and light turquoise sing!

Dear Ada, SF Girl By Bay, Decor8 are a few I check routinely and countless friend’s blogs!
Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
I get to paint again today?!

An art teacher or textile designer
What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
I would love to design a line of beautiful and colorful bedding and to illustrate a children’s book!
Name something you do in your spare time.
I go to the farmer’s market, have latte dates with friends and bike.
What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?
Teaching art in a Colombian women’s prison.

What recent book do you recommend for a good read?
Although it was quite sad, I loved Joan Didion’s “The Magical Year of Thinking”

I’ve never been to Paris and really want to!

I am not particular, but some kind of milk and if it’s really strong sugar please.

A fun board game!
What was your favorite illustration assignment?
I greatly enjoyed the process of illustrating a line of t-shirts for Patagonia while I was on an olive farm near Florence, Italy last year!
