Suzy Ultman creates a Critter Community

Suzy writes:

“Lilla,
Welcome to Critter Community. My latest Robert Kaufman fabric collection was inspired by my love of the forest, as a kid & still today. My childhood home backed up to the woods. The neighborhood was actually called “Park Forest”. I grew up playing under a canopy of trees: picking berries, hunting for lost treasure, chasing squirrels, spying on deer etc. (*See the photo below with me, the one in grass-green halter top, and my older sister hanging by “our” woods.)

Weather permitting, I still take weekly nature walks. I find the forest very relaxing and love watching it’s inhabitants scurry about. Enjoy! Suzy

Hi all,
Some time ago I was invited to participate in a new interactive art gallery app called dabball. I’ve been meaning to tell you that dabball has launched! About dabball: “the world’s first interactive art gallery app that lets you browse, buy, and play games with works of art. Depending on how you look at it, “dabball” (pronounced like dabble) is an artfully addictive game that allows players to purchase featured art directly from their iPhone, iPad and iTouch. Or, it’s the world’s first digital art gallery that sells archival-quality artist prints by way of art-inspired dexterity games.” You can find a selection of my artwork and info here: Download the app here that has been completely redesigned with a streamlined interface and priced at $1.99. It’s now on sale for $0.99 through the holidays. Take 20% off all artist prints. . The cool thing is that people have been contacting me recently who found my work on Dabball!

“Hi, Lilla! I have been designing Back to school stationery for Dutch department stores HEMA for a few years now. The stationery collection is available in over 500 stores in Europe. It has diaries, notebooks, book wrapping paper, even USB sticks, a floral computer mouse and everything else you could need for when school starts.. I love working on it and it is always great to see the end results in the store. This is a small part of last year’s collection and of this year. I hope you like it!”

I designed and directed the spot, my animator friend yoriko helped me to work on animation.

It was a really fun project, It’s always so exiting to see drawings start moving and come alive!
Here I attached some style frame.

You can see the full animation here.”

I sent you this blue image few weeks a go after I learned about the Japan Earthquake.
